Digitizing documentation

In the past, we provided our documentation in printed form and / or digitally on a data carrier, with the disadvantage that when the documentation was needed, it was not at hand and not always up to date. In the course of digitization and in line with our environmental management ISO 14001, we decided to only provide the design documentation digitally.

We have set the following minimum requirements for the future documentation of our switchboard and control systems:

  • Latest revision of circuit diagrams
  • Current data sheets of the installed components
  • Current operation manual
  • Factory testing protocols, certificates and declaration of conformity

To meet these requirements, we chose a cloud-based solution. The design-specific documentation is saved at our provider. It is very important to us that these data are stored on servers from a provider in Germany. This enables us to ensure that the requirements for data protection and data security are in compliance with the strict German legislation.

 

The design documentation can be accessed via a QR code. The QR code is placed inside the control cabinet door of our switchboard and control systems. This ensures that only people who have access to the switchboard can access the documentation. The QR code can be scanned with any device (mobile phone, tablet) or accessed by entering the URL. The design-specific documentation is automatically accessed via the link that has been read or entered.

Our circuit diagram documents have a special feature. A link (DE / EN) leads directly from the parts list to the product data sheets of the components used. Since these product data sheets are stored on our server - and not at the manufacturer of the component - we can guarantee that the links in our circuit diagram documents always work. The inventory documentation is still available even if the product is discontinued or the manufacturer is renamed.

 

A reasonable and environmentally sustainable solution not only for new designs. We also offer this service (software and data storage) for existing designs. With this software you can store and call up your documentation by yourself.
