HPS Control System Production
Individual Solutions for Every Application.
Our control systems are individually planned and manufactured according to customer requirements and demands. The mode of operation is almost identical in nearly all control systems. The control system has input signals that are exported to the corresponding output signals via freely definable control sections. According to the internal and external requirements, the control system can only a relay control or a high-availability PLC control.
Relay Controls
In this example for relay controls, a motor with a nominal output of 18 kW is controlled and monitored. The motor can be started in the "local" operating mode with a "start button" and stopped with a "stop button" or started and stopped with an external potential-free contact via the "remote" operating mode. LED signal lights are used to signal the fault messages (overcurrent, over temperature and oil pressure), which are held by a lock control until manual acknowledgment (operating mode Off).
Small Control Systems
In our example for small control systems, a neutralization basin is controlled and monitored with a Siemens logo control. The controller records the level, the pH value and the temperature of the neutralization tank via analog inputs and controls the dosing pump and the mixer via outputs. A Siemens KTP400 panel is used to display the process values. The process values are transferred to the building management system via Modbus TCP / IP communication.
High-availability Controls
In the example for high-availability controls, the incoming and outgoing breaker as well as the incoming sources (mains and generator supply) of a larger property in Germany are controlled and monitored. A Siemens S7-400 H controller was used to ensure high system availability. This high-availability controller has two CPUs working synchronously. In case of malfunction, the system switches over in milliseconds, so that the failure of one CPU has no effect on the control system. The distributed I/O modules are managed by both CPUs.
Our control systems (from relay controls to high-availability controls) are generated automatically with EPLAN Cogineer and planned three-dimensionally with EPLAN ProPanel. In the production, we use pre-assembled wiring cable sets for all control systems, planned by us via EPLAN ProPanel + Wiring and ordered through our external service provider.
New functions are developed by our project management and integrated in EPLAN Cogineer for future projects. The minimal additional effort of developing EPLAN Cogineer Macros is quickly amortized by the automatic generation of the individual functions.
In our next article we will present sample applications for our low voltage switchgears.
